It’s all about home.
It’s all about home.
It’s all about home.
Home is where you get to be completely yourself. It provides shelter and comfort to your body and soul. It’s your foundation for a happy life. Yet your home is much more than where you reside; it’s all of the people, places and things you hold in your heart. It’s your house, your apartment, your family, your community, your neighborhood, your school, your office, your studio, your city, your country, where you grew up, your best friend’s house, your dorm room, where you vacation every year, and the planet we live on. You get the point.
Your home is a reflection of you, and you are a reflection of your home. So let’s strive to make it the best it can be! Love your home, and it will love you back. That is what Suzanne Harrison Home is all about.
Through my handmade products and blog, I hope to inspire people in their pursuit of a happy and meaningful lifestyle. I believe that what you give is what you get. Give your best, and you’ll get the best. Strive to make your home – your house, your community, your world – the best it can be, and life will be good to you in return.
In 2012, after many years of working in the corporate world as a programmer, web developer, and IT consultant, I quit my job and embarked on a quest to find a new way to live my life – one that was more creative, meaningful, flexible, and fun.
So I started freelancing. I helped my husband with his business. I started making things. I started silk-screening, sewing, drawing, designing fabric and making pillows. I spent more time with my kids and doing things I enjoyed. I started a blog called Suzanne Jumps, to keep me accountable to moving forward, to practice writing, and to step out of my comfort zone.
Initially I thought my quest was to find a new calling, but I came to realize that my quest was really one of balance, integration, and self-discovery. Eventually it lead me here, to Suzanne Harrison Home.
I jumped out of my old life and landed at home. My most favorite place. Funny.
Love where you live. Love how you live.
Thank you for visiting.
“I cannot understand why you should wish to leave this beautiful country and go back to the dry, gray place you call Kansas.”
“That is because you have no brains” answered the girl. “No matter how dreary and gray our homes are, we people of flesh and blood would rather live there than in any other country, be it ever so beautiful. There is no place like home.”
